Babita Kumari Biography 
Babita Kumari is an Indian female wrestler, who won a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. A bronze medal at the 2012 World Wrestling Championships and the gold medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games are her other outstanding contributions to Indian sports. She is the sister of India's first gold medalist in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games, Geeta Phogat. Aamir khan’s much awaited movie, Dangal is the biography of these two sisters and their father Mahavir Singh Phogat who taught wrestling to his daughters. Mahavir Singh Phogat’s role is played by Aamir Khan while Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra portray the role of Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari respectively.
Babita Kumari was born on November 20, 1989 in Bhiwani, Haryana. Babita is the daughter of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains her and her elder sister. Babita’s cousin Vinesh Phogat is a wrestler and winner of a Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Babita, along with her sister and cousin have given landmark contribution to the field of Indian wrestling in the recent times. They are currently supported by JSW Sport under the Sports Excellence Programme.
Babita won Bronze medal at Dave Schultz Memorial Tournament in 2012 and silver medal in 2014. Babita is associated with wrestling championship since 2009. Babita won the gold medal in the women's freestyle 51 kg category in the 2009 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship held at Jalandhar. The following year she won silver medal at Commonwealth Games in the women's freestyle 51 kg category, got defeated to Ifeoma Christi Nwoye of Nigeria. In 2011 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship held at Melbourne, Babita won the gold medal in the women's freestyle 48 kg category. Bronze medal at 2012 World Wrestling Championships and 2013 Asian Wrestling Championship and Gold medal at 2014 Commonwealth Games are her achievements.
