Eesha Karavade Biography 
Eesha Karavade is an Indian chess player from Pune, Maharashtra. She played for India in the Chess Olympiads of 2010, 2012 and 2014. One of the successful female chess players of the country, she holds the titles of Woman Grandmaster and International Master. In August 2015 she was ranked at no: 65 at world women ranking and 2414 in April 2014 is her peak rating. She won gold medal at Commonwealth Chess Championship 2011 in South Africa. Bronze medal at Asian Individual Women Chess Championship 2011 in Iran is yet another noted individual achievement. She has represented India at 40th Chess Olympiad 2012 at Istanbul, where she finished fourth.
Eesha Karavade was born in Pune, Maharashtra on 21 November 1987. She became the youngest Woman International Master (WIM) of Maharashtra in early 2000s. She achieved her first WGM in 2004. Her performance in the open section of Pune International Chess Festival helped her to earn the norm.
Apart from some notable performances in individual games, she has been a team member in many victories of team India at a few international events. When Indian team won Gold Medal in the Blitz format and Silver Medal in the Rapid and Standard format at Asian Nations Cup 2014 at Tabriz, she was one of the team members. 40th Chess Olympiad 2012 at Istanbul, Indian team finished fourth where she was a team member.
At the most recent Aeroflot Open 2018 where she appeared as last seed, Karavade was the best performing Indian of the tournament. She just proved her point that her participation in the A group is by no means just an experience gaining expedition. Government of Maharashtra conferred her with Shiv Chhatrapati Award in 2004.
