Jugal Hansraj Biography

Jugal Hansraj is a Bollywood actor known for his chocolate looks. He debut silver screen as child artist in the year 1983 with the movie Masoom. He is most known for his debut movie as hero – papa kehte hain. He is a director of Bollywood as well. His directorial ventures are cartoon movie – Roadside Romeo and Pyar Impossible starring Uday Chopra and Priyanka Chopra. Roadside Romeo used Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s voices for the leading pair and was widely appreciated too. But the romantic flick Pyar impossible was a failure at box office, though its songs were noticed.

Jugal Hasraj was born on 26 July 1972 in Mumbai. He debut silver screen with Shekhar Kapoor’s Masoom, playing the innocent boy. The boy starred Nasurudden Shah and Shabana Azmi in the leading role and the whole story revolved around young Jugal. Actress Urmila also worked as a child artist in this movie and the song ‘Lakdi ki khati’ is immensely popular now also. Jugal later worked as a child artist in Subhash Ghai’s Karma and Sultanat. Jugal has also done ad campaigns such as Vicks Vaporub, Saffola, Nutramul and was a very popular artist during 80’s. He was most known for his beautiful and innocent eyes.

Surprisingly, years later, Jugal Hasraj debut as adult actor opposite Urmila Matondkar, who played sister’s role in his debut movie ‘Masoom’. The movie was Aa gale lag gaa – a love story released in the year 1994. The movie was before ‘Rangeela’ fame and no one released such a movie. Two years later, Papa kehte hai was released which is widely believed to be his first movie as adult actor. He was paired opposite debutant Mayori Gongo. The songs were immensely popular. Rajesh Roshan’s songs like Pehla pyar ka pehla gham and Ghar se nikalte hi made him a very popular face, but the movie flopped at box office. Next year, he was paired opposite Mala Sinha’s daughter Prathiba Sinha. But this movie too failed in box office. His only success movie till 2000’s was Mohababtein where he worked with Yash raj films. His other movies as leading and character roles include – Aaja Nachle, Hum pyar tumhe se kar baite, Salaam Namaste and Kabhi khushi Kabhi gum.
