Karthik Muthuraman Biography 
Karthik Muthuraman is an Indian film actor and a politician who is popularly known as Karthik. He entered Tamil film industry in the year 1981 through the film Alaigal Oivathillai. Since then he has acted in more than 100 films in Tamil and Telugu languages and has won Filmfare Awards four times and many other awards and honors.
Karthik was born as Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman on 13th September 1960 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. His father is the veteran actor in Tamil R. Muthuraman and his mother’s name is Sulochana. He is the youngest of the four siblings. He completed his schooling at St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai and obtained his bachelor’s degree in arts from New College at Chennai. He married Ragini who paired with him in the film Solai Kuyil. The couple has two sons and the elder son Gautham is to be casted as an actor in the film by Mani Ratnam.
It was director Bharathiraja who introduced him as an actor through the film Alaigal Oivathillai for which he received the Best New Face Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu in the year 1980. Then he had performed under the direction of almost all the popular directors of South Indian film industry such as Balachandar, Maniratnam, Fazil, Vikraman, Agathiyan, Sundar.C, KS. Ravikumar and P. Vasu and established himself as a prominent hero.
His sense of humor attracted everyone and he was awarded the title of Navarasa Nayagan by Tamil people. He paired with the actress Rambha to give many hit films in the 1990s. Some of his films include Ninaivellam Nithya, Kelviyum Naane Pathilum Naane, Pakathu Veettu Roja, Agaya Gangai, Adhisaya Piravigal, Ayiram Nilave Vaa, Oru Kai Pappom, Nallavanukku Nallavan, Aval Sumangalithaan, Nalla Thambi, Mouna Raagam, Oomai Vizhigal, Nadodi Thendral, Nandhavana Theru, Gokulathil Seethai, Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen, Pooveli, Ponnumani, Agni Natchathiram, Abhinandana, etc.
He entered politics in the year 2006 and was appointed as the Secretary of the Tamil Nadu state unit of All India Forward Bloc. Later in 2009, he started his own political party named Ahila India Naadalum Makkal Katchi. He has good support of Thevar community of southern Tamil Nadu.
