Ketki Dave is a noted television actress of Indian small screen known most for comic roles. She has also appeared in numerous Hindi and Marathi movies in character roles. As a film actress, the most significant role is Vimla in the film Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya (2000), where she played Johny Lever’s wife’s role. This movie is remembered most for the comic flavours added by these two comic actors. Her role as Gujarati in Kal ho na ho (Saif Ali Khan’s mother) is her second noted role. She has also appeared in Bollywood movies like – Parwaana, Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, Dil, Yaaran Naal Baharan, Love in Japan and Kitne Door Kitne Paas.
As a television actress, her most noted role is Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Daksha Virani. This single iconic daily soap made Ketki Dave a household name. Ketki Dave, also known as Ketki Joshi was born on 13 August 1960 in Mumbai as the daughter of veteran actress of small screen and theater artist, Sarita Joshi and theatre director, Praveen Joshi. Her younger sister Purbi Joshi is also an established name of small screen, film actress and dubbing artist. She is married to the actor Rasik Dave, with whom she runs a Gujarati theatre. Their daughter, Riddhi Dave is also a noted television artist.
Her most noted television serials include - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Bahanein, Yeh dil kya karein, Harathein, Ram milaye jodi and Pavitra Paapi. She has also participated in many reality shows like Big Boss season 2, Comedy circus season 1, Nach baliye season 2 and Comedy circus: Kaatte ki takkar. She entered film industry in the middle 1980s’ doing bit roles for movies like Kise se na kaha and Dil.
