Raj Bharath Biography

Raj Bharath is a Tamil film actor who has played both lead and supporting roles on big screen. He was seen playing male lead for the movie – Natpadhigaram 79, and supporting roles in Richie, Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum, Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu etc. Andhra Mess is his upcoming release, where he plays the lead role. He is the son of Malliyam Rajagopal, a film director and producer of 1970s, best known for the movies - Kattila Thottila, Savale Samali, Appa Tata and Jeevanamsam. Raj Bharath started off with roles in grey shades, and moved to villain roles, before he got positive and lead roles in Tamil cinema.

Raj Bharath was born into a family with film background. Malliyam Rajagopal, a film director and producer is his father. After completing his graduation, Raj worked in the leading IT company, Infosys for a short while. Later he pursued a career in films. He made a portfolio and gave it to different film makers of the industry, in search of a break as an actor. In 2013, he marked his film debut playing a brief role in Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu starring Bharath in lead role. His character name was Nikhil in the film, who assists Sudesh Berry, the antagonist of the film.

His big break in the industry happened through his next release, Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum released the same year. The movie was directed by Mysskin who casted him as antagonist Thamba in a wheelchair in the thriller. Raj got appreciated for his screen presence and he started getting more offers from Tamil cinema. He bagged his first lead role through his third release, Natpathigaram 79. The movie directed by Ravichandran included an ensemble cast of Amzath Khan, Reshmi Menon, Tejaswi Madivada and a few more artists.
