Samir Raval Biography 
Samir Raval is quite a popular name associated with Gujarati film music. He is a film music composer, audio engineer as well as a musician, who plays keyboard and guitar. Inspired by Shailendra Singh of Bobby fame in the late 1970s, Samir too decided to join music stream. He started his small Recording Studio in his house in 1991 and now he is a popular name of Gujarati music.
He was inclined towards music from his very childhood. A stage concert by Shailendra Singh was a turning point of his life. It was in the year 1978 when he happened to hear Shailendra Singh performing the songs of film Bobby, the songs which made this singer a star. After this live show, he started learning guitar. He also learnt music at Ahmedabad. In the year 1980 during his college days, he formed a music band. He performed as a guitarist, keyboard player and a singer. Later his music career started composing music for jingles. He also did background score and music for television serials. During his early days he worked with All India Radio and Doordarshan as a Musician and as Assistant Music Director.
He set up his music studio at his home in 1991. He recorded many private albums in his studio and also worked as a music arranger in those days. He composed music for Gujarati’s first rap album – Diwani Diwani Diwani, which was a major hit. He also performed across the state and abroad with his musical band, along with this. He also got guidance from great music composers of Bollywood - Kalyanji-Anandji, Viju shah and Laxmikant Pyarelal, which helped him a lot. In 1994, he got opportunity to work under Ilaiyaraaja for Tamil films.
As a film music director, he made his debut in the year 1996. His debut film was Dikro Maro Ladkvo. Till now he has composed for more than 150 films belonging to different languages and he predominantly worked in Gujarati film industry. Since 1981, he has performed in more than 3000 live shows. Veer Hamirji, Good Road, The Advocate, Teenager's Gang, Samarpaan, Whiskey is Risky, Koine Keso Nahi, Bhad no Dikro, Dikro Maro Ladkvo etc are his major works.
