Sukanya Biography 
Sukanya is a south Indian actress who acted in films of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi film industry. Her acting span spread over fifteen years. She was born on 8th July 1969 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Her father’s name is Janakiraman and her mother is Mookambikai. She married Sridhar, US based software engineer on 17th March 2002 and divorced after few years.
She was a versatile actress and a good singer. She could speak Malayalam and Telugu languages. She knows Bharatanatyam and performed stage shows worldwide. Actress Jaishree is her younger cousin. Sukanya is known for her hair dressing. She has hair styled many co-stars like Brinda Das, Kushoo, etc.
She is very friendly in nature and the actresses Saranya Ponvannan, Kasthuri, Kushboo and Ranjitha are her friends. She got five Best Actress Filmfare awards for her performance in the Tamil films, Puthu Nellu Puthu Naathu, Walter Vetrivel, and Rajarajan. She acted in many films like Chinna Gounder, Guru Brahman, Soliayamma, Peddarikam, Ilavarasan, Walter Vetrivel, Karuppu Vellai, Chinna Jamin, Seeman, Hero, Captain, Mahanadhi, Rajapandi, Indian, Periyavar, Senathipathi, Good Luck, Ellam Avan Seyal, Azhagar Malai, etc.
She acted in Telugu serial with Tabu in which she played the role of elder sister of Tabu. She acted in some Sandalwood Movies also. She is notable for her homely roles rather than glamorous roles. The scene in a film in which she exposed her midriff and navel for the hero to play spinning top, made her very famous.
