Swarnamalya Biography

Swarnamalya is an Indian film actress and television anchor who concentrates in Tamil language films. She is good dancer and is well trained in Bharatnatyam. She was shot to limelight after her participation in the Sun TV program Ilamai Pudhumai.

She was born on 22^nd April in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Her mother tongue is Tamil. She completed her schooling at Adarsh Vidyalaya and got her graduation from Vaishnav College at Chennai. Before she entered the film industry, she was working as a television presenter and as a model.

She entered Tamil film industry through the film Alaipayuthey in 2000. She got Best New Face Award for that film. She also has received Yuvakala Bharat Award when she was just 17 years old for her skills in dancing.

Some of the films that she has acted include Alaipayuthey, Yuga, Mozhi, Vellithirai, Azhagu Nilayam, Engal Anna, Periyar Ramaswami Naicker, Ennittum, Kerala Police, etc. She also acted in the television series Thekkathi Ponnu aired in Kalaignar TV.

In 2002, she married an MBA graduate Arjun who worked in US. She went to live with him in US. But after a year of their married life, she came back to India and started acting in movies. She had misunderstandings with her husband. They reconciled after sometime but then again the problem resurrected.
