Vivek Oberoi Biography
Vivek Oberoi is an Indian actor who concentrates in Hindi film industry. He has won many awards for his excellence in acting. He is also a dubbing artist.
Vivek Oberoi was born on 3rd September 1976 in Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. His father is the popular actor Suresh Oberoi and his mother’s name is Yashodhara Oberoi. His father is a Punjabi and his mother is from Tamil Nadu. He completed his higher studies at Mayo College in Ajmer and took part in the workshop for actors in London. Then he went to New York to obtain his Masters’ degree in film acting.
In 2002, he was engaged to Gurpreet Gill but it broke off after some years. Then he was gossiped to have affairs with Aishwarya Rai. Later on 29th October 2010, he married Priyanka Alva, the daughter of the Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva. He turned a vegetarian due to the inspiration of Kareena Kapoor.
He entered the film industry in the year 2002 through his debut movie Company for which he received many awards. Then he started to concentrate in action movies. Some of the films that he has acted include Road, Saathiya, Dum, Darna Mana Hai, Yuva, Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na, Masti, Kaal, Kisna, Deewane Huye Pagal, Home Delivery: Aapko… Ghar Tak, Pyare Mohan, Naksha, Shootout At Lokhandwala, Rakht Charithra I, Dekh Indian Circus, etc.
He helped rebuilding a village that was affected by Tsunami and he received Red and White Bravery Award for that in 2006. He arranged for six truckloads of relief supplies when Chennai was struck by disaster. He serves as the anti tobacco spokesperson of World Health Organization. He is also involved in many more charitable works. He received Good Samaritan Award from Rotary International for his works during the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. He also works for the rehabilitation of the mentally challenged people.
