Matheran is full of greenery

Located in Raigarh district of Maharastra is only about 2600ft above the sea level but full of beautiful spots and different tourists-points. The specialty of this unique hill station is that the spot is declared an eco range, therefore free from pollution. Matheran is one of the rare places where tourists cannot visit by their own vehicles. The only transportation available in this place is horses or manual rickshaws.

A lovely place full of tourist-points

Matheran known as jungles on the mountain is full of greenery and surrounded with lots of trees. Tourists come to this beautiful spot for its panoramic beauty spots scattered all over the place famous for sunrise views. There are 38 such tourist-points where tourists can visit to see different panoramic views. Some of the more popular points in Matheran, where tourists find interesting views are Panorama point, where one can have glimpses of sunrise and different dwellings including Neral town located at the base of the hills, Porcupine point, which attracts visitors for sunset view, the Louisa point, where tourists can have a view of fort Prabal. Besides there are Monkey point, Heart point, Maira point, Mount Berry and Rambagh point etc. which attract tourists.

Although every place in Matheran is a beauty-spot in itself but some of these are special like

- Echo Point- The point where you can hear your own voice echo and giving you a thrilling experience

- Alexander Point- The point offers you views of different beautiful places like Garbat point, Rambagh point, Palasadri Lake and Chowk point. The spot is located toward Madhavji gardens therefore has lots of greenery to make it one of the most beautiful places of Matheran.

- Charlotte Lake- Famous for photography for its beautiful backdrop and Pisarnath temple and locations of two other beauty spots situated nearby, the lake is full of tourists.

- Valley crossing- A spot popular among adventure loving people Valley Crossing is full of activities of rock climbing and as the name suggests crossing the valley from Honeymoon Point to Louisa Point on wire rope. This is very risky looking though all safety precautions taken care by experts.

- One tree point-   Another tourist spot in Matheran for its uniqueness of having only a single tree on top of the hill where tourists find it thrilling to walk towards valley and come back. The spot is considered one of the most relaxing of the spots in the area therefore hundreds of tourists visit One Tree Point every day.
