There are records both on the personal level and the team level. The match against Kings XI Punjab and Pune Warriors India was one such. Records were created during the exciting run chase. Here are a few of them.
Aaron Finch was leading the Pune team in the match in which he scored 64 runs off just 42 balls. It was also the debut captaincy for Finch. This knock by Finch is the highest by a captain on debut.

Mandeep Singh was one of the architect’s of the win for the Punjab team. He became the first player for Punjab to score a half-century in this edition. Before that it was Manan Vohra who had scored 43 runs.
Punjab chased down a mammoth target of 186 runs. That was the highest successful run chase in the tournament until then. There was another high point for Punjab in this match. Praveen Kumar became only the first bowler to have bowled as many as three maidens in IPL 2013.
Towards the end of the match, it was David Miller who brought Punjab the accolades for the win. Batting at a strike rate of almost 200, he scored 80 runs off 41 balls. These efforts from Miller also won him his first ever man of the match award. The two half-centuries by Mandeep Singh and David Miller developed into an unbeaten stand of 128 runs.
