When we go to market and buy some small things, the shopkeeper gives a polythene bag to carry those things. Many times we use it as it is quite easy and comfortable to carry many small things. But use of polythene is quite dangerous to the earth and also too many living things. It is banned in many countries as it increases pollution and harmful to us. Mostly thin polythene is most dangerous. Up to a certain gauge it should not be used.

It is not destroyed easily and when it is thrown to bin it makes pollution. It should not be burned as it makes many dangerous gases like carbon mono oxide and it is harmful to us. It makes the air polluted. Even people may die due to these poisonous gases.

Many times some animals eat it like cow etc. It may choke the throat and may bring death also. It is not digested. We have seen many times that cows and dogs are eating food with plastic in the dustbin nearby.

It may disturb our sewerage system and drainage system if it goes through these lines.  Not willingly but through air some times it happens.

So it is better to use bags of cotton and paper bags. Advantage is it can be recycled and reused. Some small scale industries make this type of cotton and paper bags. We should not encourage people to use polythene bags. It is our moral duties to keep clean our planet clean and pollution free. Many times hot foods are also carried by it and it is most dangerous as the foods may be poisonous. Aluminum foil is better to carry foods. Administration also should keep a watch on it and should aware people about the disadvantages of it.

Some scientists have also suggested that this type of polythene may be used to make hard plastic after mixing some other chemicals. In other hand it may be used in road making also. Plastic made road gives longevity than tar made roads. So stop using thin poly bags and start to take your tea in paper cup and it will be better to carry a cotton bag for marketing.
