Arjun Chakrabarty Biography
Arjun Chakrabarty is an upcoming Bengali actor. He is the son of veteran Bengali actors, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Mithu Chakrabarty. His brother, Gaurav Chakrabarty is also a celebrity of Bengali entertainment industry. He debut acting career with television serial, "Gaaner Oparey" and rose to fame with his role as Gora. He played the lead role in this serial. He debut big screen with Bapi Bari Jaa in 2012 directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha. The movie is produced by Prosenjit Chatterjee's production house, Ideas Creations.
Arjun was born in Kolkata, West Bengal as the son of Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Mithu Chakrabarty. He did his schooling from Assembly of God Church School, Kolkata. Later he completed graduation from St. Xaviers College, Kolkata. He took Mass communication as main subject. He is known by the name ‘Rishi’ among his family members, friends and relatives. He made his acting debut with television serial, "Gaaner Oparey", produced by Ideas Creations. It was aired during the period, June 2010 to April 2012. His debut Film "Bapi Bari Jaa" released in 2012. The movie marks the silver screen debut of Mimi Chakraborty, co actress of Arjun Chakrabarty in his debut serial, "Gaaner Oparey”.
His single role in Gaaner Oparey has given not only popularity but a few television awards as well. He won Agami Diner Star at Star Jalsha Parivar Awards (2011), Best Male Debutant at Telesomman, 2011 and Rising Star (Male) at Big Bangla Rising Star Awards, 2011. Gaaner Oparey, was the musical journey and romance between two artists, bohemian Gora and traditional Pupe and Tagore’s music is nicely used in this television serial. It was produced by the production house of Prosenjit Chatterjee and Star Jalsha to pay tribute to Tagore.
