G. Anil Kumar Biography
G. Anil Kumar is an Indian journalist, columnist and writer related to Kannada language. He currently serves as the Editor of Karmaveera, one of the oldest dailies of Kannada language, founded in 1921. Earlier he was associate editor of Samyukta Karnataka, the oldest Kannada daily and also The Times of India, Usha Kirana and many other papers and magazines. He started a unique educational magazine for school going children called 'Kindari Jogi', which received overwhelming response from public. He also serves as the editor of this very popular children’s magazine.
G. Anil Kumar was born in 1972 in Bangalore, Karnataka. He is one of the most successful Kannada journalists of present times, and a renowned publisher and editor too. He has written over 4500 articles on wide-ranging subjects. His interests include - environment, science, politics, economics, history, religion, spiritualism, international relations and interfaith affairs. He studied computer engineering, though he chose journalism as his career. In fact he had a brief journey with IT field in the 1990s, before he switched over to journalism.
As a journalist and publisher, he is best known for 'Kindari Jogi', a Kannada name for famous 'Pied Piper'. Saturday supplement of Samyukta Karnataka has become a great hit, which never one expected or imagined. The first edition was published in April 2007, with a special 8-page, all-colour and attractive weekly educational supplement for kids. Though it was started on an experimental basis, following its huge success, it continued publishing. Its unique content, high quality ink and attractive pages made it an instant hit. It is a Saturday supplement of Samyukta Karnataka, and received an overwhelming response from school teachers too.
