Gauri Tejwani Biography
Gauri Tejwani, also known as Gauri Pradhan Tejwani is a well established actress of small screen. Her role of Nandini Virani in Ekta Kapoor's Indian soap opera, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is the most memorable one. She has played Female Protagonist is many top rated soap operas of Indian television during 2000’s. Kutumb – Season 1 and 2 and Naam Gum Jayegaa need special mention. But she became a household name with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, where she played supporting role.
She has won numerous awards also – including best supporting actress, Favourite Jodi and Favourite Bahu. In 2010, she won Best Jodi of The Decade award at India Ne Banadi Jodi Awards alongside Hiten Tejwani, her real life husband. The couple got married in the year 2004. They formed the best Jodi of the decade with their popular soap operas - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kutumb and Left Right Left. In 2009, the couple was blessed with twins.
Gauri Pradhan was born in Pune, Maharastra on 16 September 1977. Her father Subhash Vasudeo Pradhan is a retired Indian Army Officer. After her father's retirement the family settled in Pune. While studying for engineering Gauri started modelling. She did television commercials and ramp walk also, during this time. She was one among the ten finalists in Femina Miss India Contest – 1998. She made her acting debut with Noorjehan, the Mughal Empress. But it was her daily soaps like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kutumb which made a star of small screen.
In 2004, she was nominated for Most Stylist Person on TV (Female) by MTV Style awards, though she couldn’t win it. But she has won best Jodi awards at Star Parivaar Awards several times, aside her husband. The best onscreen couple of Television got married on 29 April 2004. In 2009, twins were born to them, a girl and a boy. Apart from leading roles, she has played supporting roles in Left Right Left, Kaisa yeh pyar hai and Special Squad. She has also done cameo appearance in Jassi jaisa koi nahin.
