Gia Johnson Biography

Gia Johnson is a successful British model of Punjabi-Indian origin. This model is better known for her appearance in Vogue and Tia Maria. In the year 2011, her name was listed among the India's 50 Most Beautiful People by Femina. Apart from her successful modelling career abroad, she has done ramp walks for leading fashion designers from India like Manish Malhotra, Purvi Doshi, Sashikant Naidu & Masaba, and Shantanu & Nikhil. She was awarded with "Best Hot Stepper on the Ramp" Award at the Inaugural Vogue Beauty awards 2010. She has been featured in the 2010 Kingfisher calendar.

She was born in England in 1985 to Punjabi father and English mother. She was brought up in Richmond, London. Though she received many modelling offers at a younger age, she was interested in studies and for the same reason she rejected them all. When Marie Soulier approached her, she changed her decision and joined modelling field. Gia signed with FM Model Management while at school. She finished A-levels in English literature, theatre studies, performing studies and dance and joined fashion industry after graduation. She modeled at New York with her boyfriend for one year before moving to Europe.

Gia was first scouted by Marie Soulier and she spent 9 years in modelling industry of Europe. Later she returned to England and signed assignments with Storm Model Management. She has appeared as cover girl of many leading fashion magazines like Vogue, Verve, Sportswear International, and Femina and has also appeared in several editorials. She has also made some television commercial apperaances and done bit roles in television. ‘The Calcium Kid’ is one such appearance.
