Harish Khanna Biography
Harish Khanna is an actor who appears in movies, plays, independent films and net series. As a film actor he predominantly works in Hindi cinema, and portrays character roles on screen. He has got opportunity to work with many acclaimed filmmakers over the decades in different languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, English etc. Yahaan, Kacche Daage, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Charas, Kaminey, Tumbbad, Sochariya, Midnight’s Children, and Gangs of Wasseypur are among his memorable roles on celluloid. Rani Padmini and Moothon are among his Malayalam works. His most recent work in Moothon was well appreciated. This talented artist has been associated with many offbeat movies too.
Harish Khanna was born in Kota, Rajasthan, and his education was completed at Delhi and Kashmir. He graduated from NSD and started his career as a theatre artist. His experience in theatre brought him to celluloid, where he mostly worked in offbeat films, and earned critics’ acclaim. As a theatre artist he started his journey with Natrang in Jammu & Kashmir, and got opportunity to perform as a theatre artist in different countries across the globe. He directed the play - Garbage Project and has conducted many theatre workshops which include sections for voice, speech and acting.
Harish Khanna is also a visiting faculty at the National School of Drama and Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University. Madhusree Dutta gave him the first break to big screen. Memories of Fear in 1995 was his debut flick. Later he worked with well-known Bollywood directors, Govind Nihalani, Milan Luthria, Shoojit Sircar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap and Tigmangshu Dhulia. He most recently made his debut in web series. He was seen in Rajma Chawal, Typewriter etc.
