Hussain Kuwajerwala Biography
Hussain Kuwajerwala is a successful host and anchor of Indian television. Occasionally he acts for television serials as well. As a successful host, he has hosted Indian Idol – Season 3, 4 and 5 for Sony entertainment television. He has also appeared in numerous television ads like – Close up toothpaste, Harpic, Gillete, Perk, Rexona, Priya Gold etc. Sumit Wadhwa in Kumkum, Chirag Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Zangoora in the Musical play Zangoora - The Gypsy Prince are his other noted programs. His brother, Qaeed Kuwajewala, is a director of Television serials.
Hussain attended Fatima High School in Mumbai and received his Bcom degree from Jai Hind College in Mumbai. It was his father’s dream to see Hussain as an actor. But during his school and college days, Hussain has always stayed away from public eye. But during his college days, he appeared in a few theatre plays. Then he started his career as a model and did many television ads. Later he landed in Indian television shows as an actor as well as anchor and both became successful too.
Supporting role in Indian soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was his break to television industry. Following its success he got offer to play the lead in Kumkum. Apart from the huge success of Indian Idol, he has also hosted the television shows like - Shabaash India, Kisme Kitna Hai Dum, Kuch Kar Dikhana Hai, Khullja Sim Sim (second season) and Dance Premier League. In parallel, his good looks brought him television ads also.
He has continuously won Star Parivar Awards for favourite pathi, devar and bhai for his most popular television serial – Kumkum. In 2007, he received Style Icon of the Year Award at Indian tele awards. He has also won best anchor award at Star gold awards for the program - Shabaash India.
