Mumtaz Sorcar Biography 
Mumtaz Sorcar is a Bengali actress. She is the daughter of magician P. C. Sorcar Junior and Jayashree Devi. She started her career with music videos and later moved to movies. Short film Bhorai: The Maladies of Dawn directed by Subhrajit Mitra made her debut acting. Her first music video was for singer Mehreen from Bangladesh. As a film actress, a few of her noted movies are Bhooter Bhabishyat, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Musalmanir Galpo, 033 and Kolkatar Jongole.
Mumtaz Sorcar is the youngest daughter of magician P. C. Sorcar Junior and Jayashree Devi. She completed her school education from Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata. After completing graduation in arts, she took LLB from South Calcutta Law College of Calcutta University. She is interested in sports also. As an athlete she got trained in Boxing from south Kolkata club under Bengal Amateur Boxing Federation. She's also a gold medalist in shot put from YMCA. Mumtaz is a judo player also. In addition to her sports interests, she learnt classical jazz dance form too.
Her debut feature film 033 was released in the year 2010. This movie was directed by Birsha Dasgupta. She has also signed a Telugu project, No problem in 2007. But the movie is not released yet. Her second released movie was Musalmanir Galpo, based on the short story written by Rabindranath Tagore. In this movie, she played the role of a Hindu girl 'Kamala' who was abducted by the notorious dacoit 'Madhumallar'. This movie was based on the draft written by Tagore thus one month before his demise. In 2011, she acted in tele film - Kolkatar Jongole and Rajbarir Rahasya. 2012 is the major year for her as it gave one of the biggest hits of the year, Bhooter Bhabishyat.
