Nina Wadia Biography
Nina Wadia is an Indian-born British television actress who appears in Bollywood movies in supporting roles. Zainab Masood in the BBC soap opera East Enders is her most popular television role till now. Wadia won 'Best Comedy Performance' at the 2009 British Soap Awards. In 2013, she received ‘Outstanding Achievement in Television’ Award at The Asian Awards. Wadia is married to the Canadian composer Raiomond Mirza since 1998. As a Bollywood actress, her noted role is Namaste London, where she played the role of Rishi Kapoor’s wife. She also appeared in Bend It Like Beckham.
She was born in Mumbai in the year 1969. She has one brother and one sister. At the age of 9, she along with her family moved to Hong Kong. During childhood days, Wadia dreamt to become a barrister. Her mother has been her greatest inspiration since childhood. BBC’s Goodness Gracious Me was her first role noticed as a television actress. She played the popular role of Zainab Masood in the long-running BBC soap opera EastEnders (2007) and continued playing the same character till 2013. Earlier she has appeared in the same series doing a bit role in the year 1994. She also played the role of Zainab in the 2010 spin-off EastEnders: E20. She also hosted the ITV topical chat show, Loose Women for a couple of years.
