Nishanth Sagar Biography

Nishanth Sagar is an actor of Malayalam most known for portraying villain and supporting roles. His most memorable roles are Joker, Phantom, Thirakada, Gulmohar, Swa Le, The metro, Karyasthan, Mullassery Madhavan Kutty Nemom P. O., Anyar, Thilakkam, Pulivaal kalyanam and Rasikan. Though he has done supporting roles in most of these movies, he has an image of handsome villain of Malayalam. Except movies like Phantom and Thirakada, most of his successful roles are with negative shades.  

Nishanth was born in 1981 in Thalassery, Kerala. He did his primary education at St.Mary’s Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram city. Later he completed his schooling from Govt.Model High School,Trivandrum and Govt.Ganapat Boys High School,Kozhikode. His graduation was completed from Zamorin's Guruvayoorappan College, Kozhikode. He was doing his degree course while he got an opportunity to work in films. His debut movie was "Devdasy" directed by Biju Varkey where he played the lead role. But this movie released in the year 1999 was not noted. Next year he got an opportunity to work with director A. K. Lohithadas in the movie Joker. He played villain’s role in this movie with character name - Sudheer Mishra. Dileep and Manya played the leading roles and this musical comedy, based on the life of circus artists was a box office hit. Same year he also appeared in the movies – Manasil oru manju thulli and Indriyam.

After a couple of flops in 2001, Kakkinakshathram and Nalacharitham Nalam Divasam he got an opportunity to work with Mammootty in Phantom (2002), a successful movie. The romantic song pictured on him ‘Viral thottal viriyunna’ sung by Jayachandran made him a popular romantic hero that time.  Then again he began to work in supporting roles and villain roles. Nishanth has most recently appeared in guest appearance in Dileep’s comedy ‘Maya Mohini’. His single release of the year 2013 is Players. Nishanth is married to his childhood friend, Vrinda and they got married in the year 2003.
