Pallavi Joshi Biography
Pallavi Joshi is a successful television actress, anchor and film actress. She works in Indian and Nepali movies. She has appeared in Bollywood and Marathi movies. She is married to Bollywood film maker Vivek Agnihotri. Master Alankar Joshi, a child artist of Indian cinema is Pallavi’s brother. She also won a Special Jury Award at the 41st National Film Awards for Woh Chokri (1992). Woh Chokri is regarded as the milestone movie of Pallavi’s filmy career. She played the role of a village girl and rape victim in this movie. She has been a part of many critically well acclaimed and art films like Rukmavati ki Haveli, Suraj ka Satvan Ghoda, Trishagni, Vanchit and Rihaee during 1980s and early 1990’s. As a television actress, Mrignayani (1990) of Doordarshan has been one of the successful television serials of Pallavi Joshi. In this serial she played the role of a beautiful tribal girl whom the king meets and marries later. Her supporting roles in commercial hits, Saudagar, Panaah, Tehelka and Mujrim also need special mention.
Pallavi started performing on sabhagriya stage at an early age. Later she appeared in Doordarshan serials during 1980’s at a younger age. Mr Yogi, Bharat Ek Khoj, Justujoo, Alpviram, Mriganayani, Aarohan, Talash and Imtihaan are among the popular television serials she has acted till now. Her role of a blind girl in the movie Dada (1979) was one of her earliest good performances. Badla and Aadmi Sadak Ka are Nepali movies in which she played child artist roles.
From early 2000’s onwards she is most seen as a host of many television programs. She has anchored a few programs of Doordarshan. Zee Antakshari and Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi Little Champs are her most successful shows of Zee television. She played the lead role of Marathi movie, Rita.
