Rajiv Mehrishi Biography
Rajiv Mehrishi was born on 8 August 1955. He is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 1978 batch belonging to Rajasthan cadre. He is married to Mira also an officer of the IAS, now retired and is the brother-in-law of Lt. General Anoop Malhotra. Rajiv Mehrishi holds a degree B.A.(Hons) St.Stephen College Delhi University, Masters of Arts St.Stephen College Delhi University in HISTORY, MBA Graduate Bussiness School Stratchlyde Glasgow.
He was the Home Secretary of India. He is set to takeover as Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), after the incumbent Sashi Kant Sharma's tenure comes to end on 25 September 2017.
He has been a Finance Secretary, Ministry of Finance of Government of India. Rajiv Mehrishi Replaces Arvind Mayaram a 1978 batch mate from the Rajasthan cadre as Finance Secretary. Prior to his appointment to the Ministry of Finance, he was the Chief Secretary, since December 2013 and spearheaded many reforms initiated by the chief minister Vasundhara Raje government.Government of Rajasthan. Before being appointed Rajasthan chief secretary on December 2013, Rajiv Mehrishi served as secretary ministry of overseas affairs and special secretary in the union agricultural ministry. Rajiv Mehrishi has served on many positions in the state government. He was joint secretary in the cabinet secretariat. Incidentally Rajiv is considered a hardcore critic of various schemes launched during previous Congress-led government.
