Riya Sen Biography
Riya Sen is an Indian actress and model. She is the granddaughter of Suchitra Sen, the great actress of Bengali yesterdays and daughter of actress Moon Moon Sen. Her sister Raima Sen is also a successful actress and model. Riya Sen has worked with many ad camps and she is a popular model at present. Among Indian languages, she has acted in Bengali, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam movies.
Among her Bollywood movies, her debut movie Style was a successful one. Sharman Joshi, Sahil Khan and Shilpi Mudgal worked along with her in this movie. She was to land into Bollywood with Love you hamesa opposite Akshay Khanna with A.R.Rehman’s music. But the movie was not released. But she debut into film industry by A.R.Rehman musical Taj mahal in the year 1999. However, this Tamil movie directed by Bharati raja - talented director of present times failed to give an impact among audience.
Her next success movie was Jhankaar beats under Pritish Nandy communications. This low budget movie had a huge star cast of Juhi Chawla, Rahul Bose, Rinke Khanna, Shayan Munshi, and Sanjay Suri. She was the heroine of David Dhawan’s movie – Shaadi no.1. She did less significant roles in movies like Qayamat and Plan. One among the best performances of Riya Sen was Anantha bhadram, a Malayalam horror movie directed by Santhosh Sivam. It was his debut movie as a director in Malayalam movies. She played the supporting actress role for the movie, based on a novel that was published in a monthly magazine. Her second movie in Tamil opposite Prasanth also failed in the box office.
Apart from ads and movies, she has acted in a few albums as well. The first among these was Falguni Patak’s Yaad piya ki aane lagi. Following its huge success she began to receive a few more such assignments and all of them became major successes too. Second one was along with her sister in Asha Bhosle-Jagjeet Singh Album, Jab Samne Tum and Kahin Kahin Se. she appeared in the album of first track of Sonu Nigam’s Yaad as well as Lata Mangeshkar’s Dil Kahin Hosh Kahin. She has been frequently featured in many magazines as cover girl. She is the only female to be featured in Daboo Ratnani’s annual calendar continuously for 5 years.
