Rochelle Maria Rao Biography

Rochelle Maria Rao is a successful model and star anchor from Chennai. She was crowned Femina Miss India International in 2012 and subsequently represented India at Miss International 2012 pageant held in October 2012 at Okinawa, Japan. She finished in the 9th position among 80 contestants from different countries. She has appeared as the host for season six of the Indian Premier League and has endorsed many beauty products. She was the first runner up of Pantaloons Femina Miss India Southpageant in January 2012, where she lost the title to ShamataAnchan.

Rao was born in Chennai in 1988. Her father Doctor N. V. Rao is an advocate of natural healing and a medical consultant on herbal extracts. He is also a photographer. Her mother encouraged her a lot in her modelling career and documented photos of Rochelle’s modeling shows.Her sister Paloma Rao is a popular radio jockey and television host. She has encouraged Maria a lot to choose a modelling career. Her brother Noel Rohn Rao was a Squad Leader in the USwho became the first foreign person to become a US citizen under a new military rule. Prior to participating in Miss India contest, she has been a successful model and has already started her career as an anchor. She completed BSc. Electronic Media Degree from M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women from Chennai.

She was crowned Femina Miss India International in 2012 by the outgoing titleholder AnkitaShorey.She has also won three subtitles. "Miss Glamorous Diva", "Miss Ramp Walk", "Miss Body Beautiful".Later Rao turned host for season six of the Indian Premier League. She moved to Mumbai where she hosted many shows and events and is to debut Bollywood soon.
