Rose Muralikrishnan Biography
Rose Muralikrishnan is a Carnatic musician and singer. She is also a voice trainer, composer, conductor and songwriter, based in Chennai. She composed and released one devotional album titled, Sri Ganesha Samarpanam. She received advanced training in performance techniques and vocal training from Dr. M. L. Vasanthakumari. Apart from music festivals of India, she has also performed outside India. Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Shrine Auditorium etc are some of the venues in which she performed globally.
Rose Muralikrishnan was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is now settled in the United States. Her father was a lawyer and mother, a teacher. She has three siblings. She completed Bachelor's degree in South Indian Music Performance and Theory from Queen Mary's College, Chennai, and also Master's degree in Carnatic Music from the University of Madras. She received her Doctorate in Music from Madurai. She was initiated to music by her school teacher Anandavalli, and later she received advanced training in music and voice training from different gurus.
Her production entitled Gayaka Vadhya Brundham was first live performance in US. It revived India’s 2000-year-old traditional art called Vadhya Brundham. Currently she is settled in USA where she teaches students, along with her musical performances. She started a music school in US, Spring Nectar Foundation for Indian Music & Heritage, and serves as its CEO, and Artistic Director too.
She has also taught at many music schools and educational institutions, apart from giving performances in AIR. She has also worked as a music instructor at the Jiddu Krishnamurthi Foundation, Rishi Valley School, Andhra Pradesh.
