Sakhi Gokhale Biography

Sakhi Gokhale is a noted Marathi actress who works in Marathi movies and television serials. She is the daughter of popular Marathi and Hindi actor, Mohan Gokhale who has worked in many landmark Doordarshan serials in the 1980s. Her mother Shubhangi Gokhale is also an actress. She lost her father during her childhood and was later raised by her mother. She currently appears in the popular Marathi sitcom - Dil Dosti Duniyadari, aired on Zee Marathi. The show was premiered on 9 March 2015 and she plays the supporting role of a young wife, Reshma Patil in the show. She was seen in a small role of Venu in the Bollywood film - Rangrezz.

She was born in Pune on July 29th 1993 into a family with strong theater and film background. She was born into an artistic family which started a theater company 125 years ago. Chandrakanth Gokhale is her maternal grandfather.  She was born to the famous Marathi cine artists - Shubhangi Gokhale and Mohan Gokhale. Mohan Gokhale is quite familiar to TV audience of 1980s through the memorable roles like Yogi and offbeat movies like Sparsh and Mirch Masala. The legendary actor Vikram Gokhale is her paternal uncle. She belongs to the family of Kamlabai Gokhale and Durgabai Kamat who were credited to be the first heroines and female artists on Indian silver screen. Sakhi lost her father in 1999 when she was only 6 years old.

Born and brought up in Pune, she graduated in Fashion and Fine Arts from Pune University. She loved photography since the age of 15 when her mother gifted her a camera. She did still photography for a number of Nataks before she moved to acting field. Now she is gaining popularity as a television artist through Dil Dosti Duniyadari.
