Sonali Sachdev Biography

Sonali Sachdev is a very popular and well-established actress associated with Hindi television soaps. She is also a theater actress. Known for playing supporting roles, she shot to fame playing the role of gynecologist Dr. Shilpa Thakkar in the popular series of Star Plus - Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. She has also acted in a few Bollywood films in supporting roles. She played the role of school teacher Irene in the critically acclaimed film, Taare Zameen Par. She was most recently seen in horror film – PizzaAashayeinWishes, Aamras: The Sweet Taste of Friendship and Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai are other noted Bollywood roles.

 

Though she has appeared in several Bollywood films, she gained recognition through small screen roles. Made her acting debut with Baa Bahoo Aur Baby in 2005, she later acted in popular television soaps, Kya Mast Hai Life and Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki. Her role as Parul Karsan Vaishav for Colors TV’s Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki earned her a nomination at Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role 2013. Currently she plays the role of Narmada Vatsal in ZEE TV’s Satrangi Sasural since 2014.

 

Sonali was born and brought up in Mumbai. Her father is a Gujarati. She is a qualified dentist. But later she pursued her dreams to become an actress. She comes from a doctor family and she has been excellent in academics too. Obviously she too joined science stream. She became a dentist and orthologist and also practised for 5 years. She was supported by her husband when she decided to pursue her passion as an actress. She loves both theatre and television and has the ability to get into the skin of any character she plays.
