Sucheta Khanna Biography

Sucheta Khanna is a film and television actress. She portrays character roles on big screen and comic roles on small screen. As a Bollywood actress she is best known for the supporting roles she played for the movies - Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015), Sandwich (2006) and Anjaana Anjaani (2010). Sucheta won the hearts of the audience with her character ‘Indumati’ in SAB TV’s Lapataganj. She is to marry her co-star Abbas Khan very soon and the show has successfully completed more than 4 years by now. Both the actors are focused on their careers right now.

Sucheta Khanna made her acting debut through a Malayalam film – Kakkakuyil in the year 2001. The blockbuster comedy was directed by Priyadarshan. Sucheta played the role of a fraud – Alena, who closely works with Tyootty, the character portrayed by Jagadish. Alena was a pivot role for the movie Kakkakuyil. Later she moved to television, where she became a successful actress. She appeared in Hari Mirchi Laal Mirchi, aired on Doordarshan. She shot to fame playing the role of character ‘Indumati’ in SAB TV’s Lapataganj. She played the female lead in the comedy sitcom and she learnt UP dialect for the show. Peterson Hill, Kadvee Khatti Meethi and Shubh Mangal Savdhaan are other noted television roles.

Veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar is her inspiration, who helped her a lot in this career. She played a happy-go-lucky character for her next series - Peterson Hill. Since young Sucheta was interested in helping others, particularly the poor in need of help. She used to keep a dairy where she recorded her social services. She has done a tele-film entitled ‘Lucky Teady Bear’, where she portrayed the role of Pinky. She is to tie knot with her co-star Abbas Khan whom she describes as the most beautiful chapter of her life.
