Mansar Lake is situated amidst forests and hills and is a very beautiful location. This is not only a popular spot of excursion in Jammu but also a holy site. The shrine of Sheshnag is situated in its eastern bank. The ancient temples of Umapati Mahadev and Narsimha and Durga temple are located in its vicinity.

The rich flora and fauna of the lake attract people. The seasonal birds, tortoise and fishes of different varieties are found here and adjacent to it is a wild life sanctuary with spotted deer, nilgai and water birds like cranes and ducks, etc.
