Kapilatheertham is the place where the temple of Lord Shiva is situated. The deity here is called Kapileswara and is one of the 108 sacred theerthas on the Tirumala Hills. A mountain cave is located just opposite to it and at this place the mountain stream Paapa Vinasanam falls as waterfall. In front of the Kapila Lingam is located the sacred Sarovara through which it is believed that Kapila Maharishi came to this earth. Those who take bath in this theetham during the auspicious time of Kartika Pournami is supposed to attain salvation.
