Geetanjali Sharma Biography 
Geetanjali Sharma is an Indian dancer and an exponent of folk dance as well as traditional Kathak. One of the most successful young performing artists of today, she is a recipient of the prestigious Yash Bharti Award. National Youth Award 2010 and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Academy 2011 are other major honours received by her. Uma Dogra, Hema Malini and Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma are some of the leading artists with whom she has performed, and she has been associated with stage performances for nearly two decades.
Geetanjali Sharma was born on 3 September 1984 in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. She is not associated with an artistic family, and none of her family members are artists. For the same reason she didn’t get enough assistance or support from her family in the initial days, to pursue a career in the field of dance performances. Yet she earned success in the field of dance forms at a very young age. Apart from her performances in different parts of India at cultural events and festivals, she has also performed in Singapore, US, UK, China etc.
She started training in folk and Kathak at a young age, and slowly gained recognition at local and regional level. At a very young age she established "Geetanjali International Folk Tang", a dance school to promote Brij Folk and traditional arts. She also got opportunity to learn Kathak under Uma Dogra and performed aside her on stage. She started learning Kathak in 2008, and joined the dance school of Uma Dogra two years later. She plays the role of Radha in her Krishna Raslila performances. She is also a promoter of arts and is a organizer.
