Ahmedabad has a semi arid climate that receives marginally very less rainfall. The climate is usually dry except during monsoon seasons. There are three prominent seasons namely summer, winter and monsoon. The city has 3020 sunshine hours totally among which the month of May has the maximum with an average of 328 hours of sunlight.

The summer season lasts from March to June and during this time, the average maximum temperature is 41 degree Celsius and the average minimum temperature is 27 degree Celsius. In March, the climate varies between 15 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius and the days are dry and sunny with warm evenings. April, May and June are not ideal for outdoor activities or tourists.

Ahmedabad Climate in Winter Season

The winter in Ahmedabad starts in November and lasts till February. The average maximum temperature during this time is 30 degree Celsius and the average minimum temperature is 15 degree Celsius. The northerly winds that blow in the month of January make it ideal place of visit. December is the best month to visit the place November and December are good season for sightseeing and other tourist activities.

The monsoon season starts in June and ends in the first half of October. August is the wettest month with the average rainfall of 288 mm. The average annual rainfall of Ahmedabad is 800 mm. But the rainfall is sudden and abrupt and sometimes the torrential rains create floods in the local rivers.
