If you are traveling to the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh look out for the picturesque locale of Bomdila. This is situated to the north of the state in the Himalayan range and has an exquisite natural beauty to offer among other things. At an altitude of over 2500 m above sea level this allows you a beautiful and magnificent view of the Kameng Valley. There is a large part of the year during winter months when the place experiences beautiful snowfall and can be an experience to cherish if you travel then. The rest of the year presents a mild climate in the summer months from April to June and rainy months between July and September. The best time to visit would be between the months from April to October.
The place has been one of the ideal destinations for trekking and camping especially because of the Himalayan altitude. Apart from the snowy mountains of the Himalayan range that forms a picturesque setting for a holiday destination there are apple orchards that you visit here. Among places there are several Buddhist monasteries or the Gompas that can make for an interesting travel itinerary. Bomdila is also a place of fascinating artifacts and handicrafts that is available on sale. You will be mesmerized at the places for shopping that are here which is also a wonderful way of showcasing the art and craft of the place.
There is the Dirang Valley that you can also visit as part of your holidays here. There is also the Sela Pass that you can see if you are on your way to the small town of Tawang. It is up north and forms a precarious and yet beautiful journey. There is a 400 years old Buddhist monastery here that you can visit. It is an important religious center of the region also.
The route to Bomdila is entirely by roadways. There is a well developed network of roadways that connects the place with several other places of the state as well as out of it. There are plenty of options to travel and explore around the place. You will be able to be a part of professionally guided trekking or even camping trips. You can enjoy a variety of accommodation facilities in Bomdila and thus staying within your budgets will not be a problem.
You can travel here at any time of the year depending on the choice that you have for seasons. However the safest and the best possible time would be between the months of April and October. It would be advisable to carry woolens with you at all times of the year considering the altitude and the average temperatures.
