1. Though Visakhapatnam is not a shopper’s paradise there are many shops that sell clothing, jewelry and books and various other items which you can just take a look at when at the city. You can find impressive collection of sandalwood sculptures in the handicraft store Lepakshi owned by the Andhra Pradesh State Government.
2. Enjoy the hot and spicy Andhra Pradesh cuisine in one of the traditional restaurants here. This will be a unique taste.
3. Take a stroll at the RK Beach which will provide you a thrilling experience. Good pedestrian track is available here.
4. If you are lucky watch the sunrise or moonrise on a full moon day at Tennati Park on the Vizag-Bhimili Beach Road. This will give you good feast to the eyes.
5. Kailasagiri is located 6 km away from the city center and from the top of the hill you can see the entire city below and the sight of the Eastern Ghats merging into the sea.
6. Visit the shooting spot near Tenneti Beach Park. This is a perfect place for romantic couples and will give you the view of the pristine waters.
7. Take the train journey from Visakhapatnam to Araku and this is one of the most enjoyable route covering many tunnels and valleys on the way. The Shimiliguda railway station in the route is the highest railway station in India on broad gauge track. This is a four hour journey and there is only one train which starts early in the morning in Visakhapatnam.
8. Enjoy ropeway ride in Kailasagiri and from the rope car you can view the scenic beauty below especially in the evening time when the lights are on. You can have the bird’s eye view of the city below.
