Asim Hassan is an Indian professional footballer from Malerkotla, Punjab. He is associated with professional matches since 2007, and has played for the Indian football clubs such as JCT, Pune, Vasco etc. He currently plays as a Midfielder for I-League 2nd Division team ONGC F.C. He had a long term association with Pune between 2008 and 2013, and played 48 matches scoring 4 goals. He played 5 matches for Vasco in loan in the year 2013. Apart from football, he is also interested in Punjabi pop music.
Asim Hassan hails from Malerkotla, Punjab. He was born on 19 November 1986. He is a product Mahilpur Football Academy, who joined this academy in the Under-19 batch. In the next three years, he trained to a tremendous player with some outstanding skills. Mahilpur is a less-known remote town, which is crazy about football. Later he joined JCT Academy in 2007 and was associated with it till 2008. He also got opportunity to play in 2007–08 I-League, but played only a few games. In 2008 he signed for Pune, and played for this team for next 5 years.
His career as a successful footballer began only after he signed for Pune. He played 48 matches scoring 4 goals, and this period helped him to emerge as a promising young player too. He played a crucial match for Pune against SESA F.A. in a 2009 I-League 2nd Division. Later a few injuries deprived him of matches for one season. He signed for ONGC in 2013, and currently plays as a Midfielder. He has also played as a striker for a few occasions.
