Dharam Singh Uppal is an Indian athlete who serves as the Superintendent of Police in Punjab. He has won many medals for his achievements in 800 m and 1500 m race. He took part in Asian Games and SAF games in the Indian team.
Dharam Singh was born on 21st July 1959 in Jalandhar in Punjab in a Sikh family. When he was active in athletics he met with a major accident that made him unfit for sports activities and he was posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Bathinda and worked in various places like Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala and Jalandhar.
He received the President Gallantry Police Medal for his achievements. He was into controversy when he tried to intimidate the witnesses when his son Romi Uppal was accused in a murder case and he was suspended. He was put up in all media for this incident.
