Ranu Mondal Biography

Ranu Mondal is a singer from West Bengal. She was born in Krishnanagar in West Bengal's Nadia district. She is in her late 50s, who turned the biggest internet sensation of year 2019, when a video went viral over net. She was seen singing Lata Mangeshkar’s sad song, “Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai” at Rana Ghat Railway Station, West Bengal in the viral video, which melt millions of Indian hearts. She used to spend her days in penury when she turned the biggest sensation of the year. Ranu Mondal has now turned a household name across India, and has also made her debut as playback singer of Bollywood.

 

Ranu Mondal hails from Krishnanagar in West Bengal. She says that she was born into a family well-being. But destiny brought her into a world of sufferings and miseries. She was married twice, and in her 50s she was seen in a railway station of Bengal, singing to earn her living. She has been estranged from her kids as well, though her younger daughter provides financial support occasionally. The daughter is also a single mother, divorced, who tries to make her ends meet, and bring up her kids. Other kids are in good financial situation, but forgotten the mother during her bad times.  

 

A single video of Ranu changed her destiny forever. A person happened to watch her singing and begging in the railway platform, and he recorded her voice in his personal mobile. When he uploaded the video on social platform, it went viral over net. Bollywood music composer Himesh Reshammiya gave her the big break through his movie - Happy Hardy Aur Heer, where she crooned the track, Teri Meri. The song also went viral over net. Now she is busy in her public life, and she also appears for TV shows.
