Sayani Palit Biography
Sayani Palit is an Indian classical and semi-classical vocalist from Kolkata. She is also a well-known playback singer, music composer and performer. As a playback singer she marked her debut in 2013 through Bengali films, and also has rendered her voice for Bollywood songs. Katti Batti in 2015 was her first break in Bollywood as a playback singer. She has also worked in jingles and short films as a singer. She has composed and released a few singles, and it includes ghazals and semi-classical songs. Khwahishain is her first full-fledged self-composed Hindi contemporary album released in 2014.
Sayani Palit hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. She was born on 5 July 1989. She started her musical career when she was just 4 years. She took formal learning in music under different gurus, and studied under Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and her wife Chandana Chakraborty for long 20 years. She was a scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy, and was blessed to take musical lessons from Girija Devi. She also completed her graduation and post-graduation in music from Kolkata University. Currently she is doing her research in 'Influence of Thumri in film music' as a part of her PhD studies.
Sayani Palit was crowned the ‘Country’s Golden Voice’ in year 2014. Out of 91,000 entries there were finally 12 contests in the finals and she was selected as winner. The differently abled singer has rendered her voice for numerous Bengali film songs. Hanuman.com, Pendulum, Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2, Mukhomukhi, Asur etc are some of the Bengali movies for which she did playback singing. Ruh Mein Hain - Sur Prabaha, Kabhie Kabhie (2015), Ishq Ki Inteha, Garv Se Jiyenge Hum, Wo Jab Bhi Udaas etc are some of her singles.
