Siddarth Kaul Biography
Siddarth Kaul is an Indian cricketer and sportsman from Pathankot, Punjab. He made his first-class debut for Punjab in 2007 and has played 52 FC matches till now. This medium pace bowler took a total 182 wickets in his first class career till 2018. He also got opportunity to play an ODI match for team India in 2018, when he played against England in England tour. But he couldn’t claim any wicket in his debut match. In IPL matches, he is currently associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2016. Marked his IPL debut in 2008, he has earlier played with Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils.
Siddarth Kaul was born in 1990 in Punjab. His father Tej Kaul is a former cricketer who has played three seasons for Jammu and Kashmir in the 1970s. His elder brother is a cricketer and wicket-keeper of domestic cricket, associated with Punjab. He came to limelight for the first time after he had a successful tournament at the Under 19 world cup in Malaysia. He was a team member which lifted the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Very soon he started his domestic career for his home state of Punjab in 2007. But injuries have often restricted him from ground as well as domestic cricket. He serves as a medium pace bowler for his team who bowls at approximately 130 km/h speed.
In the domestic cricket, he played his first match for Punjab against Orissa in the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy. His brother played as wicket keeper for this match. Siddharth made his debut match memorable claiming a total of 5 wickets, and it also earned him a permanent berth in domestic cricket associated with the team of Punjab. His form also helped him to get into IPL auctions in 2008 and he joined Kolkata Knight Riders. He was also a team member of India-A team for South Africa A-Team Triangular Series in 2013 and 2017 South Africa-A Team Tri-Series.
