Sudhir Naik Biography 
Sudhir Naik is a former cricketer who has played for team India in 1974. Though he couldn’t get much opportunities to play in international career, he is known as a good player in domestic cricket. He played only 3 Tests and 2 ODIs for India. He scored 2687 runs in Ranji Trophy for Mumbai, with his highest score being 200 not out. He also served as team captain of Mumbai for Ranji matches in 1970-1971 and won the trophy. Later he served as the team captain for many years. He has also scored 730 runs in first class matches. Since 2005 he is a curator who is in Ground In charge at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium and gained positive commends for 2011 World Cup finals played at Wankhede Cricket Ground in Mumbai.
His full name is Sudhir Sakharam Naik. He was born in Mumbai in 1945. This cricketer had an impressive career in domestic cricket, though played only 5 international matches for senior team. Later he also excelled as a team coach and ground curator for many of the matches played in India for the past one decade or so. He played as a right handed batsman for his team. He began his domestic cricket with Bombay University. Later when he was employed with Tata Oil Mills, he served as team captain for domestic matches of his cricket team. He is an organic chemist by profession.
He got associated with Team Mumbai for many years in Ranji Trophy and successfully led the team for 1970-71 as team captain, which gave him selection to Indian national team. In the three test matches he played, he scored a total of 141 runs. 77 is his highest score. He continued with domestic cricket after that. Naik currently works as a curator who overlooks the preparation of ground and pitches for international matches played in India.
