Taruwar Kohli Biography
Taruwar Kohli is a young cricketer from Jalandhar, associated with IPL matches. A good performer at Ranji matches, he scored a triple century at the semi-final match against Jharkhand in the 2012-13. His performance in Ranji gave him an entry to IPL matches. Taruwar Kohli is the son of the legendary Indian swimmer and water polo player, Sushil Kohli who won a Bronze medal at Delhi Asiad in 1982. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler who is currently associated with Punjab One-Day Team. This all-rounder has played with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2008, captained by Yuvraj Singh.
His full name is Taruwar Sushil Kohli, born on 17 December 1988 in Jalandhar, Punjab. He was born to famous professional swimmer and water polo player, Sushil Kohli. His mother’s name is Meenu Kohli. Taruwar made his debut during 2005-2006 season. He first played for team Punjab Under-17 for Vijay Merchant Trophy competition. In the debut test match he made an unbeaten 85 runs, and played in good form throughout the tournament. He also made his first century in the series.
Year 2008 was very significant to Kohli. He was a member of Under-19 Cricket team, which won World Cup in 2008. He also played as team captain in a one-day tournament against Uttar Pradesh and did some solid performance. In the same semi-finals, he scored unbeaten 118 and took 5 wickets. His triple century in Ranji trophy gave him entry to Twenty-20 matches. He played two games for Kings of Punjab. In the IPL Twenty-20, he was a team member of Rajasthan Royals, the second edition of IPL series. Currently he is associated with Punjab One-Day Team.
