Umesh Yadav Biography

Umesh Yadav is an Indian cricketer who is playing for Vidarbha team. He is a right arm fast medium bowler and right handed batsman. He has been playing domestic cricket since 2008 and international cricket since 2010.

 

Umesh Yadav was born on 25th October 1987 in Nagpur in Maharashtra. His full name is Umeshkumar Tilak Yadav. His father’s name is Tilak Yadav and he was a worker at the coalmine. He lost his mother in March 2011 due to liver infection.

 

He joined Vidarbha team in the Plate League of the Ranji Trophy. He got good support from the team captain Pritam Gandhe and he got a chance to represent Air India in the T20 tournament. His first class debut was on 3rd November 2008 against Madhya Pradesh team in the 2008-09 Ranji Trophy. In the first innings, he captured everyone’s attention by bagging 4 wickets for 72 runs. He made his one day debut during the 2008-09 season.

 

He then represented the Central Zone team in the Duleep Trophy and in 2008 he was bought by Delhi Daredevils. His international ODI debut was against Zimbabwe on 28th May 2010 and his test debut was on 6th November 2011 against West Indies. When Praveen Kumar was injured he was called to fill his place in the World T20 match in May 2010. But he could not participate in that game. Then he played at the tri-nations ODI series held at Zimbabwe in the same month. He did not shine in that series and could take only one wicket.

 

He was then taking continuous training and had to wait until October 2011 to play his next international match. In 2011 IPL, he was bought by Delhi Daredevils. He was a part of the Indian team that played against England in November 2011. India won that series and he could get nine wickets totally.

 

At the 2012 IPL, he became the fourth highest wicket taker with 19 dismissals from 17 matches. He played in the test match against Australia in 2011-2012 tour and took 14 wickets at an average of 39.35. He started to consider cricket as his career only at his age of 19 and could get to the top very soon.
