1. If you are interested in shopping in Jaipur then you have to visit the market places like Jauhari Bazar, Nehru Bazar, Chaura Rasta, Tripolia Bazar and Bapu Bazar. The place is famous for precious and semi-precious stones and for saris with bandhni, bathick and zardoshi worlds. You can find them in Gopalji ka Rasta and Haldion Ka Rasta. You can also find some of the best shops that sell artificial jewelry items, leather products made of camel skin and fabrics of traditional tie and dye in Nehru Bazar.
Ramganj Bazar is the best place to buy leather footwear. Beautiful lac bangles are available in Maniharon Ka Rasta dn Tripolia Bazar and carpets are found in Subhash Chowk. The shops near Hawa Mahal sell antique and pseudo-antique items.
2. Visit the local hotels to enjoy the Rajasthani cuisine. You will like the special items like dal bhatti churma and laal maas in restaurants like Dasaprakash, the Palace Café, Jaipur Darbar and the Copper Chimney.
3. A transportation trip to Amber Fort on elephant’s back is one of the enjoyable things to do in Jaipur. There will be a Howdah or a wooden framed seat over which the tourists sit and the mahout sits on the neck of the elephant and control the animal with an ankush. Sitting on an elephant, you will feel like the king and queen of the ancient era.
4. The Chandra Mahal Palace or the City Palace is still inhabited by the people of royal families. Only a part of it is opened to the public and the portions like peacock doorway, bronze door and the guarded entrance only are accessible to tourists. If you get a chance meet the Maharaja of Jaipur. They are very hospitable and will greet you with tea.
5. A fun thing to do in Jaipur is taking a camel ride that will last in your memory forever. Sitting on a camel’s back and exploring several villages and passing through savannah grasslands will be a unique adventure.
6. Travel in the Rajput style wooden boats on clear waters of Man Sagar Lake to reach Jal Mahal. The view of Aravalli ranges across the lake is fascinating. The lake is located at a distance of 8 km from Amber.
7. Watch puppet shows and folk dances of Jaipur. The puppet shows are organized by some hotels for entertaining their guests. It is interesting to watch the small wooden dolls on strings moving and dancing to covey the moral messages.
8. Watch polo played at the Rambagh Polo Ground located at the heart of the city. The people of Jaipur love this game and it has aristocratic traditions.
9. There are balloon rides available to float atop the deserts and Aravalli mountain ranges. Though this is a bit expensive you will surely love this trip.
10. Get into the Government Emporium at MI Road to bag some good handicrafts like pottery, jewelry, paintings and sarees.
11. On the streets of Jaipur you can spot a snake charmer doing tricks with the snake. Watch this dying art performed by turban wearing charmers.
12. Taste the traditional sweets of Jaipur like Mishri Mawa that is made with cardamom, nuts and milk. Peep into the 135 years old Rawat Mishtan Bhandar located on the Station Road to relish the royal sweets.
13. Take a walk on foot to explore the streets and get into one of the good bookshops at Chaura Rasta. These street wanderings will rejuvenate your senses.
14. Get on a cycle rickshaw and explore the pink city in a slow pace. The pink painted buildings make your eyes cool. Take some nice photographs of this pinky atmosphere.
15. Check out the Egyptian mummy at the Albert Hall Museum that belongs to the Ptolemaic era.

19. Check out the private collection of folk art at the SRC Museum of Indology. It has many rare collections including the manuscript written by Aurangazeb. It is located at the south of central museum.
