The restaurants in Jaipur serve the traditional dishes of Rajput culture. The foods are aromatic and full of ghee and dry fruits. The buttermilk and curd are extravagantly used to get a unique taste. Some of the traditional Rajasthani dishes served in Jaipur hotels are besan chakki, dal bati churma, sohan halwa, ghewar, laapasi, raabdi, keri ki sabji, khaddi, makki ki raab, lahsun ki chutney, etc.
The traditional Rajasthani food is vegetarian food that is cooked without onions or garlic or any other items that grows below soil. However the cuisine of Jaipur has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The popular non-vegetarian dishes are laal maans, the red meat cooked in spicy way and the safed maans, white meat cooked with nuts and coconut and boneless kebabs. The famous dish dal bati churma is made of cereals and butter. Sweetened bread pudding is another popular dish served in Jaipur restaurants.
