From the airport, you can take Volvo buses to reach the main city and these buses ply in five different routes. They are available outside the domestic terminal and those who reach Kolkata at international terminal should walk to domestic terminal to take these buses. Taxis are also available.
How To Reach Kolkata By Train
Kolkata is connected with all the major stations of India by train and serves as the gateway to the north eastern part of India. There are two major railway stations in Kolkata namely Howrah station and Sealdah station. Another important terminus is Kolkata station and the two smaller ones are Santragachhi and Shalimar stations. Near the Howrah station you have the ferry service through which you can reach the other side of the river. If you want to go to Babu ghat or Fairlie Place this is the best option.
