How to Reach New Delhi
New Delhi, being the capital of India, is well connected to the major cities of India and South Asia. This is one of the busiest cities of India and several people visit Delhi every day. So, how to reach New Delhi is not a problem and it is reachable for both international tourists and national tourists. There are continuous flights, trains and buses from different parts of India and abroad.
How To Reach New Delhi By Air
New Delhi has an international airport named Indira Gandhi International Airport and a domestic airport named Palam Domestic Airport. There are more than 35 international airlines from different destinations of the world fly to the IGIA. The airlines like American Airlines, Asian Airlines, British Airways, Kuwait Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Saudi Airlines, Thai Airways International, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airlines, Japan Airlines, Air France, Air Sahara, Air Canada, Air China, Paramount Airways, etc. are some of the international carriages operating from here.
The Terminal ID is the domestic terminal also called as Palam. The low cost flights like IndiGo, GoAIR and SpiceJet fly from here and the Terminal 3 is the main terminal which is used for international flights and other domestic carriers like Jet Airways, Air India and Kingfisher. There is a distance of about 8 kilometers from these two terminals and free shuttle bus runs between them every 20 minutes.
From Terminal 1A, Indian Airlines connects the major cities of India like Agartala, Agra, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Goa, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raipur and Bhubaneshwar and Alliance Air connects Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Vadodara. From Terminal 1B, Air Deccan and Jet Airways connects to all the major state capitals and other low cost carriers also operate from here.
The airport is located 23 kilometers from the city.

New Delhi Railway Station
New Delhi Railway station is situated outside Paharganj. If you reach the station by Delhi metro, you will be into the Ajmeri Gate situated near platform 12. As the station is large and confusing, it is better to reach one hour earlier to spot your train, if you are visiting for the first time. The porters will carry your luggage on paying money.
The International Tourist Bureau is operating during office hours to help the foreigners and non-resident Indians to book tickets. The booth for the prepaid taxi is available at the extreme far north. If you have to reach the airport from here the cost of the taxi would be around 400 INR.

Other Railway Stations in Delhi
Delhi Railway Station is also called as Old Delhi station. If you want to reach here by Delhi metro, Metro Line 2 Chandni Chowk Station is the option. Many of the trains heading south start from Hazrat Nizamuddin station. The nearest bus terminal to this station is Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminal located on the ring road 400m from this place. The Humayun’s Tomb is in close proximity to this station. Anand Vihar could be reached by Delhi Metro Line 3 and is located in the eastern side of the city near Noida. Metro 2 line connects Delhi Junction and New Delhi Railway Station.
How To Reach New Delhi By Road
If you want to reach New Delhi by buses, then you have the option of many inter-state bus termini. They are
- Kashmere Gate ISBT for buses towards north.
- Sara Kale Khan ISBT for buses towards south. This is located near Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
- Anand Vihar ISBT for buses towards east. This is situated near the east bank of River Yamuna.
- Bikaner House bus stop from which air-conditioned Volvo buses are operated.
- Majnu Ka Tilla operate buses to Dharamsala. You have to take rickshaw from Vidhan Sabha Metro to reach here.
