Kulbhushan Jadhav Biography
Kulbhushan Jadhav is an Indian national who came to spotlight after he got arrested in Balochistan of Pakistan on 3 March 2016 during a counter-intelligence operation in the site. He was accused of charges of terrorism and spying for India's intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Pakistan states that he serves as a commander in the Indian Navy who is involved with spying activity in the neighbouring country. Both Jadhav and India have denied the blames, and the country is striving its best to bring Jadhav back to his motherland. He has sentenced to death by a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) in Pakistan on 10 April 2017, and a stay order has been issued by International Court of Justice one month later on 18 May 2017.
He was born on 16 April 1970 in Sangli, Maharashtra. His father Sudhir Jadhav is a retired Mumbai Police officer. Jadhav is married and has two children. He was settled in Mumbai in with his family, when unexpected tragedy occurred in his life. Though India claims that he is an ex-naval officer, Pakistan claims that he currently serves the post and works as a spy for Research and Analysis Wing. Pakistan also claims that Jadhav joined the Indian National Defence Academy in 1987 and was commissioned in the engineering branch of the Indian Navy in 1991. Pakistani media reports that , he started spying after the 2001 attack on the Parliament of India, he was inducted into intelligence operations in 2003, and he established a small business in Chabahar in Iran, from where he made frequent visits to Karachi and Balochistan.
Jadhav was arrested in Balochistan on 3 March 2016 by Pakistani security forces who reported that Jadhav is a serving officer in the Indian Navy. Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated that Jadhav has retired prematurely and has no current link with the government. The incident got a lot of media coverage from both countries since the beginning.
