Lalitya Munshaw Biography
Lalitya Munshaw is an Indian singer known for her live performances. She has also released many music albums belonging to different genres of music. A trained classical singer, Lalitya has been association with western forms of music as well. She has been associated with fusion, filmy, Ghazals, Sufi, Bhajans and folk genres of music. She has also collaborated with many internationally acclaimed artists for fusion works. She has also rendered her voice for a few Bollywood films such as Commando, Hai Golmaal in White House and Queen.
Most of her music albums are released by celebrities and famous personalities. She established a music company called ‘Red Ribbon Entertainment’ which releases different genres of albums – from pop to devotional. She also owns an art recording studio called Re N Raga. Thus she is a successful entrepreneur also. ‘Hare Ram hare Krishna’, ‘Shree Krishna Janmotsav ‘ and ‘Krishnarpan’ are among her devotional albums. She has also worked with many leading voices of Indian music industry like Hariharans, Anup Jalota, Pankaj Udhas, Shivamani, Louis Banks, Ronu Majumdar, Neeladari Kumar etc. She launched her album “Lori” in Hindi and “Halarda” in Gujarati which is dedicated to motherhood.
She hails from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Lalitya has her roots deep into music. She started formal training in classical music at the age of 6. Since childhood she had a clear idea about what to do in future. Her parents too supported her well. When she decided to move to Mumbai from Ahmedabad her parents supported her decision. Since then she has fully dedicated her life to the world of music. Her mother is a teacher by profession who has inspired her a lot throughout her career. ‘Maika Piya’ with Ranjit Barot & Hariharan (Fusion) & ‘Rum Gaya Dil’ (Romantic) are among her recent released albums.
